Looking to spruce the place up? Look no further than these funky and floral florists that make up part of the Glasgow shopping scene. From super vibrant greenery-infused spaces, to the stores absolutely dripping in hanging plants – these are the best plant shops in Glasgow.
1. Glasgow Plant Mama
Turning her passion for plants from blog to business as lockdown began, Emma (or Plant Mama) launched her online plant shop. In October 2021, Glasgow Plant Mama launched her very own permanent shop in Merchant City offering plants in all shapes and sizes, plus suitable for whatever space you have. Glasgow Plant Mama also runs masterclasses, hosts plant Q&As as well as collaborates with artists to showcase their work in her plant store.

2. Blooms
Blooms is an uber-Instagrammable experience thanks to their candy pink feature wall which is tightly packed with beautiful plants and bunches of flowers. The plant shop is also situated on Dumbarton Road and customers can pick up hanging plants, tropical-looking house plants, succulents and more. Basically, it’s a jungle of house plants and we love it. Plus, they have a cute dog named Moss who you may find hidden behind some foliage.

3. Barvas and James
A floral institution in Glasgow’s West End, Barvas and James has been sitting pretty on Queen Margaret Drive for some years now, with a quaint display of plants outside brightening up the area. The plant experts stock a huge selection of houseplants, from small to large, with tons of greenery and bright, colourful flowers to choose from. If you’re looking for a cute gift, they also stock smaller seasonal items (especially at Christmas!) which are perfect for desks, as well as cutely-designed plant pots and homewares.

4. West End Garden Centre
Whether you’re after indoor or outdoor plants, West End Garden Centre has got you covered. According to owner Martin McCarron, the garden centre was opened in order to “give people of the West End their very own garden centre, one that they can walk to if they like. Gardening is a staple in Britain and the pandemic has shown that.” The spot also has an indoor plant shop and cafe, offering guests a wee cuppa and snacks while shopping for their next plant baby.
