The SCEPTRE Awards are like the Oscars of retail, making it the most prestigious title, ‘Retail Shopping Destination Of The Year’ 2025, to be awarded to shopping centres.
Silverburn Shopping Centre in Glasgow was named the “most dynamic and resilient retail and leisure destination” and the best shopping centre in the UK, beating the likes of London, Manchester and Leeds.

Having opened in 2007, Silverburn Shopping Centre has been consistently serving the community throughout. Moreover, what made the retail destination worthy of becoming the best shopping centre in the UK was its expansion over the last 12 months. In less than a year, the spot has opened up shops like Zara, Black Sheep Coffee, H Beauty, HARIBO UK, Pull & Bear and Bershka, with more in the works, such as Oliver Bonas, Jo Malone and Wingstop UK.
The shopping centre was also praised for its employment opportunities, having created many jobs for the local community with 24 new store openings.
A spokesperson for The Sceptre Awards said: “Over the past 18 months, Silverburn has delivered record-breaking results, driven by a strategic transformation that has strengthened its reputation as one of Scotland’s most dynamic and resilient retail and leisure destinations.”
David Pierotti, general manager of Silverburn, said: ‘This win, alongside record-breaking customer numbers, is a testament to the dedication of our incredible team and partners, who have worked tirelessly over the past 18 months to transform Silverburn into something truly special.”
“Silverburn has always been about more than just a place to enjoy shopping, we have worked hard to create a destination our community and guests can be proud of, one that champions local employment and contributes meaningfully to Glasgow’s continued growth.”

Silverburn Shopping Centre posted on Instagram regarding the award: “We’re very proud to share that Silverburn has been named the UK’s Retail Destination of the Year at the 2025 SCEPTRE awards Awards! 🏆
Silverburn has had an exceptional year welcoming lots of new brands including Glasgow’s first Bershka and Pull&Bear stores as well as Scotland’s first King Pins leisure destination. We’re bursting with pride at this prestigious award and a huge thank you goes out to our incredible team, guests, retailers and everyone involved who help make Silverburn such an amazing destination every day. 🌟”
The second place went to Victoria in Leeds, competing against the likes of Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent, Trinity Walk Shopping Centre in Wakefield and Stamford Quarter in Altrincham.
On top of the ‘Retail Destination of the Year’ awards, SCEPTRE Awards also gives out titles like ‘Manager of the Year,’ ‘ Community Initiative of the Year’ and ‘Innovation of the Year.’
