Gaming bar fans, listen up! Glasgow is officially getting Scotland’s first immersive batting cages, as well as world-class augmented darts, bowling and a party bar all in one place at Bowlarama.
Located on Glassford St, the late-night boutique bowling alley, Bowlarama, has announced a brand new competitive socialising floor and party bar opening in late August. Visitors can soon battle it out at the first immersive batting cages in Scotland, as well as have a go at world-class augmented disco darts.
The immersive batting cages are powered by revolutionary technology and augmented reality, where players can pick between baseball, tennis or cricket modes, while the simulator delivers a unique experience no matter the skill level. Up to six players can enjoy playing the game per cage.
The venue also boasts three augmented darts lanes, where guests can dive into a groovy game of disco darts, with glittering balls illuminating the back wall and dartboard.
On top of the immersive batting cages, Bowlarama has also expanded upstairs, with eight bowling lanes instead of four featuring automated bumpers, personalised image graphics, high-tech SYNC scoring, and sophisticated neon lights.
What is more, visitors can also have a go at retro arcade games, such as Down the Clown, a two-player NBA Basketball Hoops game, Pac-Man and Street Fighter II. And of course, there are plenty of drinks and cocktails to choose from, with the bar open until the wee hours of the morning. The restaurant is also serving favourites like burgers, hot dogs, nachos and more.
Ian McColm, who launched Tiki Bar and Kitsch Inn in 2010 and Bowlarama in late 2019 said: “Creating fun social experiences and bringing people together is my passion. The fantastic response to Bowlarama since its opening in 2019 inspired me to elevate our offerings further.
“Activity-led social experiences are in high demand, and we wanted to introduce something truly unique to Glasgow. We’ve invested significantly in technology and user experience, allowing guests to seamlessly plan multi-activity days for friends, corporate events, or family gatherings.”
