Salt Bae might have the steak lovers of Dubai eating out of the palm of his hand (almost literally), but here in Glasgow one restaurant has some extravagant meat offerings, minus the hefty price tag. Bringing an affordable alternative to the golden steak costing a whopping £1,450 served at Nusr-Et, Salt Bae’s steakhouse which opened in London last year, Glaswegians can get more bite (and bling) for their buck.
Chateau-X, the Finnieston restaurant brand from the team behind Six by Nico, has introduced the “world’s most affordable gold-covered steak” without the eye-watering prices to their weekly menu. Guests can tuck into a succulent 1kg Tomahawk steak with a 24 carat gold finish every Thursday throughout July, starting from July 7, which serves two people and is priced at a reasonable £40.
Plus, diners who order their Chateau-X’s Tomahawk steak will be given a raffle ticket, with one lucky customer receiving a golden ticket. That guest will then be treated to a 1kg gold leaf Tomahawk steak for the same price, making it 97% less than Salt Bae’s price tag in London.
Chateau-X unveiled their new ‘golden ticket’ raffle concept on Instagram and believe it will be the world’s most affordable gold-leaf Tomahawk ever served in a restaurant. Gilmour Butcher, a British meat supplier, has partnered with the brand, and the limited offer is only available throughout July 2022.
Andy Temple, Chief Creative Officer at Simeone Group, said; “We want to make quality and local meats more accessible to the people of Glasgow (and further afield) and also have a bit of fun with it. Chateau-X does exactly that every day and we hope everyone gets the chance to enjoy it – even if you aren’t the lucky winner!”.
