Chateau-X is an independent steakhouse located on Claremont Street in Finnieston, where everything is freshly cooked in-house, from scratch. Plus, the restaurant prides itself in sourcing sustainable prime cuts, knowing where the meat comes from.
The £15 Steak Frites at Chateau-X
Secret Glasgow got the chance to try Chateau-X our for ourselves, and seeing what it’s all about first hand. And let us tell you, there is a reason why the restaurant is always booked up between Mondays and Wednesdays. The steak and frites come in decent-sized portions, including a choice of sauce and one side for the price. Guests can choose from Flat Iron Frites for £15, or Fillet Frites for £25 for those looking for a more tender meat. Plus, you can add prawns for an extra £5 to make it a Surf & Turf.
Wine lovers can indulge in a bottle of red wine for £25 or half a bottle for £13, while those with a sweet tooth can enjoy a cheesecake for £5. The spot also offers a list of classic cocktails, such as Limoncello and Aperol Spritzes, Margaritas and Espresso Martinis.
We tried medium-rare Flat Iron Frites with Chimichurri sauce and Bone Marrow Jus, accompanied by the Beef Dripping Carrots and Tobacco Onions. The meat was rich and flavourful, complemented by the golden fries, while the Tobacco Onions are a must-try.
