On June 25 the premier sneaker event in Europe, Crepe City, will be taking over Glasgow’s Box Hub Warehouse from 11am-6pm. Having made a strong debut last year it’s only right that they’re back to deliver a second year of fun. There’s a reason it’s become the biggest sneaker festival in Europe, and one of the biggest reasons for that is its expansion to being an event that’s about more than just trainers. Trainers are still a big part of it of course, but the event has gone above and beyond to create a space that anyone can enjoy whether you’re there for the shoes or just a great time. The day is any sneakerheads dream. The rarest trainers on the market all in one place and available for you to take home that same day, and you can get your tickets for it now.
So what’s all the fuss about Crepe City anyway?
Well, let’s go on a little trip back in time to the very first Crepe City event back in 2009. Thirteen years ago the event was organised as a gathering in London as a space for sneakerheads to meet up in person, socialise, and trade their rare trainers. It was clearly a success, but that first event is almost unrecognisable when held up against their offerings in 2023. Not only have they expanded beyond trainers into the world of streetwear, they’ve honed in on providing a festival experience that seamlessly blends entertainment with shopping. Even more impressive is the fact they’ve taken Crepe City across Europe in cities like Amsterdam and Berlin and cemented its place as Europe’s biggest sneaker festival.
