Bargain-hunting, holiday-loving Glaswegians, listen up – because I come bearing some news that’s sure to be right up your street runway. EasyJet is set to release millions of cheap flights tomorrow (July 28). And here’s how you have the very best chance of securing a seat at the lowest price.
EasyJet tends to do ‘big seat releases’ several times a year. This is when the low-cost carrier releases flights for future seasons, making them available to book. You can currently only book flights with easyJet up until June 13, 2027. But according to the ultimate money maestro, Martin Lewis, tomorrow is when the airline will be releasing its next batch of flights for those that wish to travel between June 14 and September 26 next year.
Whilst easyJet hasn’t officially revealed the date of the upcoming seat release in a press release, the budget-friendly airline has reportedly told the Money Saving Expert that almost 14 million seats across over 78,000 flights will be released tomorrow (July 28). The airline also hasn’t revealed the exact time at which these seats will become available, but based on previous releases, you’ll need to be setting a rather early alarm if you want to secure the lowest fares. In previous years, seats have been launched at around 6am – and sometimes even earlier. Blimey.
EasyJet uses a ‘dynamic demand pricing model’ which means that the higher the demand, the higher the price. The demand – and therefore the cost – is always at its lowest the very moment that the flights are released and so being online and ready to book your flight the second it becomes available is the best way to bag a guaranteed bargain.
Martin Lewis describes easyJet’s seat release days as ‘the most predictable time to get cheap flights’. In previous releases, passengers have seen fares soar in price within mere hours of being made available.
