Glasgow’s popular crazy golf venue Fore Play is no more and has been replaced with an adult-only fairground games experience, Fayre Play. While the slight name change doesn’t seem like much, the venue has transformed into a carnival spot for adults to enjoy childish fun with creative cocktails.
Fayre Play opened its doors on Saturday, March 4, inviting guests to invoke their inner children and roam wild around the fairground. Located in Kinning Park, Scotland’s first adults-only games experience offers some classic competitive favourites with a Glasgweigian twist such as Bulls AYE, Slam Drunk and Lucky Tosser.
You can still expect to find a selection of street food and cocktails when in need of a breather. Fayre Play offers loaded dogs and juicy burgers, as well as their famous cocktails with fun names such as the Clown Star Martini and the Merry Go Rum.
Of course, we couldn’t pass on the Scottie Dog, that comes with Haggis, cheese and pickled red cabbage on a brioche bun. Guests can also opt for The Fire Eater burger with buttermilk fried panko chicken breast, house katsu mayo, homemade pickle slaw, gem lettuce and jalapeños, served in a toasted brioche bun.
And for those who are after some liquid courage, go for the Who Gives A Duck with Bacardi, Raspberry Sourz, Blue Curacao, fresh lemon, lemonade, apple juice and malic acid.
Craig Neilson, co-owner of Fayre Play and Fore Play Crazy Golf, said: “We were the first to bring the adults only crazy golf concept to Scotland, and we had an amazing five years in Glasgow running Fore Play. Now, the venue’s transformation is complete, and we’re buzzing to welcome our fans to our brand new concept, Fayre Play. We’ve taken all the best bits from Fore Play and applied them to a competitive fairground games experience, where you can challenge your mates across a whole host of familiar favourites.”
