Praise the weather gods, spirits, fairies and everything else in-between! It looks like the warmer months are already upon us, when sunny days at the beer garden are not just a mere Summer memory anymore. Warm weather is finally arriving in Glasgow this week, with the BBC Weather forecast showing temperatures going up to 20 degrees on Sunday, May 28.
We have been amazingly treated with some well-deserved sun during the bank holiday weekend, with this week looking a tad more bleak, colder and rainier before the temperatures turn more pleasant again.
However, according to The Met Office, Friday, May 26 is expected to be the nicest day, going up to 18 degrees, with lows of 10 degrees in the morning.
BBC Weather confirms that both Sunday (May 28) and Monday (May 29) promise glorious sunshine with a gentle breeze, going up to a whopping 20 degrees on both days.
Wednesday is also expected to be pleasant this week with sunny intervals and 17 degrees on May 24 and 18 degrees with a sun on May 25, as well as 19 degrees and sunny on May 26. The temperature is then set to remain at 20 and 21 degrees for the rest of next week. Yay for us!
In the long-range forecast between May 27 and June 5, The Met Office says: “The weekend and start of next week will see dry and sunny weather across most of the UK. However, there could be some thicker cloud in western and northwestern parts with outbreaks of light rain in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Winds are expected to be generally light, though perhaps moderate in the far northwest at times. Temperatures should be above average for most, but with some colder nights in the north.”
“By early June, high pressure is still expected to dominate, though with the possibility of showers developing in the south and possibly turning heavy at times. The north likely to see drier weather. Temperature are expected be above normal for most, although cooler near windward coasts.”
It looks like while the days are going to be pleasantly warm, people are still advised to layer up for the colder nights. So, you’ll find us at all the outdoor dining spots and beer gardens in the meantime!
