There’s nothing quite like that sweet, sweet feeling of sinking a freshly pulled beer: perfectly chilled, straight from the barrel and glittering in the sun like liquid gold. Well, if that has got you daydreaming of summer pints then the Glasgow Craft Beer Festival might be right up your street. This July, the two-day festival will be making its Glasgow debut; beckoning in brewhounds with the promise of refreshing lagers, golden ciders, amber ales, fruit-fuelled sours and creamy stouts. This is a must for any craft beer fans looking to taste a wide range of hops from over 30 world-class breweries.
This festival is a brilliantly boozy escape to a beer-filled paradise, inviting fans of hoppy concoctions to indulge their hearts out. You are sure to be spoilt for choice when you see the wonderland of beers at SWG3 (Studio Warehouse Glasgow) on Friday 8th July and Saturday 9th July. There will be literally hundreds of beers, ales, stouts, sours and more on offer, with a variety of breweries from Scotland and beyond selling their tempting tipples. This includes Fierce Beer, Full Circle Brew Co, Hidden Lane, Holy Goat, Lost and Grounded, Mondo, Moonwake, Newbarns Brewery, New Zealand Beer Collective, North Brewing Co, Pilot Tempest Brew Co, Vault City and many more. Plus, there’s also non-alcoholic options for any designated drivers or teetotalers looking to enjoy the vibes with none of the booze.
All this beer tasting can be hungry work. Luckily, to soak up some of the booze there will be plenty of mouthwatering food you can tuck into. Not only will El Perro Negro, home of UK’s best burger, be serving up some of their award-winning wares – think dry-aged, grass-fed beef burgers or juicy tender chicken chicken sandwiches – but there’ll be a cornucopia of delicious dishes from Glasgow’s top restaurants and culinary talent.
Of course, no festival is complete without some live music providing the soundtrack to a day of drinking. Previous festivals have seen the likes of DJ Yoda, Hot Chip, and Fat White Family take to the decks, and this year it will be BBC 6 Music legend Huey Morgan keeping the party in full swing. You’ll be able to drink and dance the day away in boozy bliss. Make sure to grab your tickets to Glasgow Craft Beer Festival now for a glorious day of hoppy goodness.
