The sunny weather continues, as Glasgow is meant to get a proper heatwave this week, becoming one of the hottest Aprils in history. So, let’s prepare to spend some time outside, grab a well-deserved pint at the beer garden and spend some quality time with our pals, because it’s going to get up to 21 degrees on Thursday, April 30.
According to the AccuWeather forecast, Tuesday, April 28 is meant to reach up to 17 degrees with lows of just 3, with sunny intervals. As for Wednesday (April 29), the news is even brighter, with highs of 19 degrees and lows of 4. Thursday (April 30) will be sunny and 21 degrees, while Friday (May 1) will see a lower 19 degrees, but the cold nights are over, with lows of 10 degrees.
Unfortunately, the Bank Holiday weekend is not looking as great, with highs of just 15 degrees on both days…
The Met Office said in their forecast for Tuesday, April 28: “Dry and settled with light winds. Any early morning cloud will break up to leave a good deal of warm sunshine for the rest of the day. Maximum temperature 18 °C.”
As for the forecast for Wednesday to Friday, the Met Office predicts: “Dry and settled conditions prevail through this period, with light winds and plenty of sunshine. A chance of a few showers on Friday.”
The dates between May 2 and May 11 are looking cooler, with the Met Office commenting: “During this period, conditions will probably be fairly changeable, with low-pressure systems in the vicinity of the UK. This means an increasing chance of showers or longer spells of rain, along with some strong winds at times. However, dry interludes with spells of warm sunshine are still likely, with a risk of a few short-lived early-morning fog patches. Temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly above normal, particularly in the southeast.”
So, it’s set to be quite the heatwave here in Glasgow, so you’d better make some outdoor plans and book in advance!
