A luxurious Scottish castle is reviving the jazz age and transforming its ballroom into an exclusive evening inspired by Gatsby’s extravagant gatherings. On March 4, The stunning Crossbasket Castle in East Kilbride will host the decadent Great Gatsby Ball, featuring a three-course dinner, plenty of dancing and entertainment from the 20-piece Cosmopolitan Big Band.
A sparkling drinks reception and canapes will greet partygoers, followed by a three-course menu expertly curated by the castle’s Executive Chef, who oversees the award-winning Michel Roux Jr at the Crossbasket restaurant. After the dinner, party-goers will have the chance to get on their feet and dance the night away to the live jazz band.
Sensitively renovated, Crossbasket is a ravishing 17th century castle that is now one of Scotland’s most luxurious hotel and event venues. The castle grounds include a large stretch of woodland with extensive nature walk opportunities as well as a river featuring majestic waterfalls.
Crossbasket Castle re-opened its doors in 2015 and is is managed by Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI). Since opening, the castle has attracted numerous accolades including Best Newcomer at the Condé Nast Johansens Annual Awards for Excellence and Castle Hotel of the Year at the Scottish Hotel Awards. What is more, the castle is home to one of Scotland’s only restaurants from culinary royalty Albert & Michel Roux Jr, which has been awarded three AA Rosettes for exceptional standards of cuisine.
The venue also hosts a myriad of events, such as monthly yoga retreats and occasional balls. And for those wanting a wee day out can also opt for the afternoon tea experience with special treats from the Chef.
And for those who are tempted by the Great Gatsby Ball, the tickets are £95 per person and includes a sparkling drinks reception, three-course dinner and live entertainment. Party-goers can book their spot on the Crossbasket website.
