Why book a hotel, when you can stay in a real life hobbit house?
With coronavirus making international travel seemingly impossible, we’re going to have to look a little closer to home to get that break we all need and deserve. The UK does have a number of spectacular staycation spots, but Holiday Wales is offering an experience we’ve only ever dreamed of. How does luxury glamping, a private hot tub and impeccable views of Wales sound? That’s not even the best part. You can enjoy all of the above inside a real life hobbit house! Holiday Wales currently has three hobbit houses open to the public and they are already proving to be a hit. Foxes View, Badgers View and Hares View all opened this month and come with two lavish king size bedrooms, a children’s bunk room, a cosy living area, Wi-Fi and the most breathtaking views of the Welsh countryside. Frodo may have left The Shire, but you definitely won’t want to leave these hobbit houses any time soon.
These subterranean houses are perfectly designed to mimic the fantastical hobbit homes in the much-loved trilogy. They also happen to be tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. So if you’re in desperate need of a city break, this may be the staycation for the you. Staying here will feel like you’re starring in your own fairytale and there are a world of adventures waiting for you just a short journey away for the accommodation.

You’ll be right next to the town of Rhayader where you’ll find the magnificent Victorian dams of Eden Valley. Or if you fancy a mountain walk, the Cambrian Mountains aren’t too far away either. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, you really can’t go wrong with cosying up indoors 24/7 and star-gazing from the hot tub.
Turns out these hobbit houses are selling like hotcakes. There is very limited availability until 2022, so forget Lord of the Rings, it looks like you may have to endure a Lord of the Flies-style battle to get your hands on one of these houses. Fortunately, Holiday Wales will be releasing a fourth hobbit house for us to book shortly – so keep an eye out. For more information head to their website.
