Yesterday (May 7), Glasgow took to their local polling stations to vote for the Scottish Parliament Elections 2026. As the results are now in for all constituencies, we can have a wee look at the breakdown of the results. SNP (Scottish National Party) has a hold on each constituency by a mile, with Labour and Reform trailing behind.
What is more, it looks like SNP’s John Swinney will almost certainly be Scotland’s First Minister, with the result rolling in so far.
Glasgow Anniesland
Elected: Colm MERRICK, SNP
Glasgow Anniesland elected SNP’s Colm MERRICK, with 13821 votes, while Scottish Labour party took second place with 9162 votes. Reform UK came third with 4839, and Scottish Liberal Democrats got 1688 votes. Scottish Conservative and Unionist came last, with 1404 votes.
51.53 % of voters showed up to have their say in the Scottish Parliament Elections in Glasgow Anniesland.
Glasgow Baillieston and Shettleston
Elected: Davin LINDEN, SNP
SNP took Glasgow Baillieston and Shettleston, with SNP’s Davin Linden winning with
12075 votes. Reform UK came second with 6972, while Scottish Labour got 5885 votes. Scottish Liberal Democrats were fourth with 1082 votes, and Scottish Conservative and Unionist 1006.
Less than half (46.52 %) of voters showed up at the polling stations to cast their votes.
Glasgow Cathcart and Pollok
Elected: Zen GHANI, SNP
SNP’s Zen GHANI was elected at Glasgow Cathcart and Pollok with a triumphant gain of a whopping 14270 votes. Scottish Labour Party took second place with 9107 votes, and Reform UK got 5320. Scottish Liberal Democrats came fourth again, with 1407, while Scottish Conservative and Unionist received 1325 votes.
58.87 % of registered voters showed up to vote, which is a decent turnout compared to other places.
Glasgow Central
Elected: Alison THEWLISS, SNP
SNP won over yet another Glasgow constituency, with Alison THEWLISS elected at the Scottish Parliament Elections 2026 in Glasgow Central, receiving a whopping 15085 votes.
Scottish Labour Party got 5094 votes, while Reform UK received 3988. 1262 people voted for the Scottish Liberal Democrats, and only 835 cast their votes for the Scottish Conservative and Unionist.
Only 44.84 % of the total electorate showed up to vote in Glasgow Central.
Glasgow Easterhouse and Springburn
Elected: Ivan MCKEE, SNP
SNP won once again with IVAN MCKEE receiving 11926 votes. 6772 people voted for the Scottish Labour Party, while Reform UK got 5309 votes. Scottish Liberal Democrats received just 788 votes, while Scottish Conservative and Unionist got 706.
Only 43.02 % of the total electorate cast their votes in the Scottish Parliament Elections 2026.
Glasgow Kelvin and Maryhill
Elected: Robert DORIS, SNP
SNP won once again at Glasgow Kelvin and Maryhill, with 11174 votes. The Scottish Green Party came second with 9003 votes, while 7531 people voted for the Scottish Labour Party. Reform UK was fourth with 3592 votes, and Scottish Liberal Democrats got 1374.
Glasgow Kelvin and Maryhill saw a turnout of 54.90 % of all voters show up to the polling stations.
Glasgow Southside
Elected: Holly BRUCE, Scottish Green Party
Glasgow Southside was the only Glasgow constituency to elect the Scottish Green Party, with a whopping 14048 votes to secure the win. 10947 people voted for the SNP, while the
Scottish Labour Party took third place with 7300 votes. Reform UK received 3019 votes, and Scottish Conservative and Unionist got 1383.
A whopping 58.59 % of the total electorate showed up to vote in the Scottish Parliament Elections 2026 in Glasgow Southside.
Glasgow Region
The results for the Glasgow Region are in, and the Scottish Labour Party took the top spot here. The Scottish Green Party and Reform UK both got two seats each. 50.30 % of the total electorate showed up to vote in the Glasgow region.
