Things are about to get cluckin’ good.
Glasgow’s food scene is pretty incredible and it’s about to get even better as a new pop-up is coming to town. The team behind Glasgow restaurants, Ox and Finch and Ka Pao, are winging it despite lockdown by blessing us with a new fried chicken pop-up shop that is set to open next month.
Known as Koxedo, the new fried chicken pop-up will temporarily take over the Ox and Finch’s restaurant in Kelvingrove, and will be serving up plenty of crispy and tender fried chicken for you to devour. Announcing the news on social media both restaurants posted: “ππ₯π COMING SOON!!! ππ₯π Weβve been keeping a little secret π€ The chefs from @oxandfinch and @kapaogla have been teaming up and weβre ready to show you what weβve been working on. Introducing @koxedo, a fried chicken pop-up taking over Ox and Finch this spring.”
Koxedo is launching a takeaway menu which is available for collection from their pop-up venue every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 12pm-8pm, from March 5. The menu features their own unique recipe fried chicken as well as signature chicken sandwiches, sauces and sides. The team said it will be a chicken shop take on some of the most popular dishes served at Ka Pao and Ox and Finch.
For instance, Ka Pao’s fried chicken with spicy caramel is a firm favourite so it’s likely to be featured on the Koxedo menu. As for influences from Ox and Finch, who feature in the Michelin Guide, it’ll be bringing the great produce, like their meat and veg, usually served on their menu to Koxedo, as well as their culinary skills.
Online pre-ordering will be available on Koxedo’s website from next week and you can find their newly-released menu on their website. Koxedo opens for collection from Ox and Finch on Sauchiehall Street, from 12pm on Friday March 5 and will be available for Friday and weekend takeaways until the restaurant is able to reopen.
