Rock, rodeo and all things American fans will be ecstatic to find out there is a brand new bar opened its doors in Glasgow, boasting a bull pit, live rock music every night and live sports. As a result, the new venue Maggie’s Rock ‘n’ Rodeo will become Scotland’s first country-themed bar.
Located on Trongate, Maggie May’s is currently undergoing a £500,000 refurbishment and rebranding as Maggie’s Rock ‘n’ Rodeo bringing its very own bull pit and “Hoedown” late-night venue. The owners took inspiration from Nashville’s finest dive bars, with honky tonks and shows like ‘Yellowstone’. So, Maggie’s is going all things country as it has named itself “The Home of Good Times”.
However, the current bar Maggie May’s is still open, so you can give it a wee visit and check out the newest additions. The bar already hosts live rock bands every night, as well as live sports and late nights until 3am.
Once the refurbishment has been completed, visitors can expect a full revamp inside and out, with The Bullpit & Buckin’ Bronco, The Hoedown, Maggie’s basement saloon hosting Country themed Honky Tonks every week and a brand new menu. Plus, there will be dedicated country nights for those die-hard country music fans or expats who are just missing home.
Owner Oli Norman said: “We’re taking Maggie’s to the next level and making it the ultimate feel-
good place for big groups, stags, hens and anyone wanting to party. Maggie’s is an institution and is and will always be the home of live music and sports. We’re staying true to those roots but adding a country twist.
“We’ve all ended up three sheets to the wind in Maggie’s at some point – now we’re going to do it
with our cowboy hats on.”
