The excitement felt from mild (and responsible, of course) gambling mixed with the endorphins from exercising? The unexpected combo has now become a reality, inviting guests to spin class while playing an honest game of bingo. Mecca Bingo has announced Mecca Spingo, planning to help weegies “hit the endorphin jackpot” by introducing a new fitness concept that combines the joy of bingo with the benefits of spinning.
Mecca Bingo is one of the largest bingo and slot operators in the UK. What is more, both online and in-person venues raise money for Mecca’s charity partner Carers Trust.
Mecca’s Spingo concept will see spin instructors become bingo hosts all at the same time from the saddle of a spin bike. Players will be able to feel all the emotions of filling in their bingo cards while receiving a much-needed mood boost from getting fit. Whether visitors achieve 50km or £50k, they will walk away feeling accomplished, and/or richer.
Mecca first got the idea from doing a survey, which revealed that 43% of people in the UK made a New Year’s fitness resolution for 2024. Plus, over a fifth (22%) added that “exciting” workouts are more likely to motivate folk to keep to said resolutions.
Sarah O’Neill, head of innovation for Mecca Bingo said: “Pace, adrenaline-pumping competition and joy – the worlds of bingo and spin classes have a lot more in common than people may think! That’s why we’re excited about shaking up expected and mundane exercise routines and breathing fresh life into New Year workouts with the development of our Spingo concept!
Whether participants are joining for a chance to hit the jackpot prize or an endorphin high, we’re confident Spingo will hit the mark.”
To register for the Mecca Spingo class, those interested should email meccaspingo@rank.com. Guests should also keep in mind that the event is only open to people aged 18 and over.
