Melting Pot and Optimo (Espacio) are bringing back the annual Spring Weekender festival to Glasgow for the second time, where guests can dance away to a myriad of music genres. Taking place on the Springtime bank holiday weekend on May 4 & 5, you can dance away in the event’s Big Top Tent, enjoy some ice-cold pints of Heverlee and enjoy some tasty street food courtesy of The Big Feed.
The end of January saw an official announcement of the line-up for the Queen’s Park Spring Weekender, with one of the most successful electro, techno and disco acts of their era, The Blessed Madonna, headlining on Saturday. The American DJ is “showcasing a unique sound that has seen collaborations recently with diverse talents such as Dua Lipa and Fred Again, that will have fans dancing from start to finish.”
Disco, techno and house enthusiasts will also be thrilled to hear DJ Paulette will make a welcome return to the UK’s friendliest city. What is more, The Melting Pot DJs will be on hand to bring the party that has kept Glasgow dancing.
Joining the stage on Sunday will be the “all-time Optimo heroes” ESG, delightinh crowds with a diverse mix of punk, hip-hop and funk since 1978. Plus, Sunday’s line-up is hosted by JD Twitch and JG Wilkes of Optimo (Espacio), taking music lovers on the type of genre-hopping adventure, deservingly so, as one of the UK’s most influential DJ teams, producers and record label owners.
Spring Weekender goers can also expect Hayley Zalassi, Todd Terje, Aba Shanti-I, Ribeka and more during the weekend festival.
Queen’s Park Spring Weekender is open between 2pm and 11pm on both days, and you can book your tickets starting February 1 for those who sign up early, or from February 2 from the event’s website for £35.
