Melting Pot and Optimo (Espacio) are bringing back the annual Spring Weekender festival to Glasgow for the third time, where guests can dance away to a myriad of music genres. Taking place on the Springtime bank holiday weekend on May 2 & 3, you can dance away in the event’s Big Top Tent, enjoy some ice-cold pints and enjoy some tasty street food.
And this year, the event is introducing the brand new JD Twitch Stage, dedicated to Keith and his huge contribution as an artist and co-curator for this annual event
Disco, techno and house enthusiasts will also be thrilled to dance Saturday away, with a stellar line-up of talent. The Melting Pot DJs will be on hand to bring the party that has kept Glasgow dancing.
Sunday’s line-up is hosted by JG Wilkes (and formerly JD Twitch) of Optimo (Espacio), taking music lovers on the type of genre-hopping adventure, deservingly so, as one of the UK’s most influential DJ teams, producers and record label owners.
Mark Mackechnie, Melting Pot Director, said: “The Queen’s Park Spring Weekender is our favourite weekend of the year. Every year it keeps getting better, and this year we are delighted with the line-up – we feel it really reflects the creative vibe of the area.”
Queen’s Park Spring Weekender line-up
Speaking on the line-up, Jonnie Wilkes said: “It’s really a dream line-up this year for Optimo at Queen’s Park Spring Weekender. A lovely balance of live performance, individual dj sets and fun back to back sessions. In addition to the main arena, to have another stage in loving memory of my partner Keith, feels very special. It’s somewhere we can host artists from the Optimo Music label roster alongside local dj’s we love. Gonna be a STOATER this one!”
Queen’s Park Spring Weekender is open between 2pm and 11pm on both days, and you can book your tickets from the event’s website. You can sign up for the pre-sale from 11am on Thursday, November 13, and the general sale tickets 11am on Friday, November 14.
