Where has the time gone, as it feels we were just talking about the 2025 ceremony taking place in Glasgow! Well, now that the 2026 Michelin Guide Awards UK & Ireland ceremony in Dublin has concluded, we can see how our Bonnie Scotland did.
While Glasgow didn’t earn any new stars, Edinburgh is knocking it out of the park once again, with one of its existing Michelin-Star restaurants, Timberyard, receiving a Green Star for 2026. The Free Company in Balerno, Edinburgh, has also been awarded a new Green Star.

However, Glasgow was not completely left out in the cold, as Alasdair Shaw of Sebb’s on Miller Street, which was also awarded a Bib Gourmand distinction last week, received the Michelin Exceptional Cocktails Award.
The Michelin Guide said: “Sebb’s has had a great year, picking up both a Bib Gourmand and the Exceptional Cocktails Award for Head of Drinks Alasdair Shaw. This restaurant and bar is a paradise for cocktail lovers, with a diverse list that ranges from timeless classics to slushies, shots and bespoke drinks with a creative streak. One of our Inspectors found the miso and malt old-fashioned a particular highlight – a take on the classic with a round, buttery taste and a hint of passion fruit for freshness.”
What is more, 1887 Restaurant in The Torridon hotel in the Highlands was awarded a brand new Green Michelin Star this year.
Killiecrankie House in Pitlochry was also awarded a new Michelin Star – co-owner of Killiecrankie House Tom said: “We’re a tiny restaurant in the middle of the Scottish Highlands, we’re chuffed.”
Beloved Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, located inside the Three-MICHELIN-Key The Gleneagles Hotel, has retained its Two Michelin Stars, as well as the newer addition, the Glenturret Lalique in Crieff.
