As light pollution restricts our ability to see the night sky in big cities, getting away to dark areas at night can feel otherworldly. The vastness of the universe is not only mesmerising, but can also make us and our human problems feel small, helping put things into perspective. Galloway Forest Park, the UK’s first certified Dark Sky Park, offers just that, with Dacia offering visitors a chance to sleep under the stars for free in their Bigster SUVs this February.
The Dacia Bigster SUV boasts a panoramic roof, perfect for looking up at the stars. As a result, a number of SUVs will be transported to Galloway Forest Park for the night of February 25 and 26, allowing a lucky number of guests to bathe in the vastness of the universe under the Scottish skies.

The “otherwoldly” experience has been named the “Million Star Hotel”, redefining luxury travel to only what is essential for an outdoor adventure. Dacia described the experience as: “Bigster will double as a hotel, proving that a ‘luxury’ experience need not be defined by excess, but by the perfect ingredients – a comfortable bed, good company, and a blanket of countless stars overhead”, featuring the vehicle’s sleep pack.
And don’t worry, you will have an actual bed to sleep on, as the sleep pack folds into a 190cm mattress, which can also act as a tray table, as well as storage for luggage, even when the bed is extended. What is more, the panoramic sunroof means you won’t have to go outside into the cold to stargaze.

And during the night of February 25 and 26, space lovers will be able to experience a rare six-planet alignment, where Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mercury will be easy to spot with the naked eye.
How to apply to stay at the “Million Star Hotel” for free?
