Give the gift of food this Mother’s Day.
Not all of us may be able to see our mothers, or the legendary matriarchs and women in our lives, this Mother’s Day but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat them to a meal. Some Glasgow restaurants have taken the stress out of trying to rustle something up, or potentially burn it, by offering Mother’s Day-themed meal kits, boxes and hampers with little preparation involved. Here are some of the best dine at home experiences and foodie gifts from Glasgow restaurants we’ve picked out to show some love and appreciation when you can’t take them out.
1. Six by Nico
This hamper from Six by Nico’s dine at home range, Home-X, has been added to numerous online shopping carts so if you manage to get your hands one, count yourself lucky. Their Mother’s Day edition serves two and features a starter, main course, two sides, a sweet dessert and a cheese course. Plus, the meal box comes with a lovely bottle of Prosecco to enjoy. The stand out dishes have got to be their sirloin beef as well as truffle cheese potato dauphinoise. The Home-X box costs £65 with delivery included and you can purchase it here.
2. Mamasan
Treat your mum to a Mother’s Day banquet this year with Mamasan’s dine at home experience for £70. The cocktails and canapés box features lobster and tiger prawn cake with burnt chilli jam; confit duck and plum parcels with hoisin dipping sauce; dressed crab katsu cups; Thai chicken and prawn wontons; a selection of macarons; and Thai spiced chocolate crémaux to finish. The kit also comes with a cake stand and includes four cocktails to serve two, curated by the restaurant’s director of mixology, featuring one with mandarin infused gin, the other lemongrass vodka and dragonfruit, all of which pack a punch. Plus, to add to the Mother’s Day gifts, they’ll receive a bespoke Mamasan soy wax candle created exclusively by Vie Candle Company.
3. Eusebi Deli
Remember when brunch was a thing? Well since we can’t currently enjoy it in a café, why not treat your mum to the gift of brunch from home this Mother’s Day? Eusebi Deli has created an at home brunch experience featuring five plates of decadence. The brunch menu features lobster crumpets; steamed artichoke heart with spring garden salad; scallop Thermidor; Burrata, blood orange and honey blossom salad; and wild berry pannacotta. For any veggie mums, they can enjoy avocado crumpets and baked truffle gnocchi as a meat-alternative. Feel free to add extra gifts this Mother’s Day with Eusebi Deli’s selection of wines, cocktails and cakes for the ultimate treat.
4. Five March
The contemporary Glasgow restaurant on Elderslie Street has launched some delightful at home meal kits this Mother’s Day, including a vegetarian menu too. Both meat-eaters and veggies will enjoy a starter of hummus, endive, zaatar and chilli olives followed by either a zucchini, leek and goats cheese pâté and either salmon ceviche or grilled asparagus. For main course, there is the choice between duck pancakes or broad bean falafel and flatbreads, both also served with burnt eggplant, whipped tofu, blackbean and ginger dressing, plus Five March spuds and aioli. Both menus finish with a kaffir lime leaf posset with mango & coconut salsa. Five March’s dine at home kit varies in price with the vegetarian menu costing £65 for two and the meat menu costing £75 to serve two people. The restaurant offers delivery to numerous Glasgow postcodes as well as collection between 3-6pm on the day of your booking.
5. The Marlborough
The Glasgow restaurant is back and offering a Mother’s Day afternoon tea, plus two three course menus to choose from, as well as cocktail gift box, all of which make perfect gifts. Their afternoon tea (costing £25 and serving two) features three different flavoured sandwiches (cheddar and plum tomato chutney; honey roast ham, mustard and beef tomato; smoked Scottish salmon, cream cheese and cucumber), plus chicken and chorizo pastry, pork and black pudding sausage roll, fruit scone with jam and cream, chocolate dipped strawberries and six different miniature cakes. The Marlborough recommends you get your order in pronto by calling them on 0141 338 6606 and you can find the other menus on their Instagram story highlights.
