Unsurprisingly, Glasgow has made it onto another list, and this time – it’s pizza. Our favourite Italian food can be found everywhere around the city, and it’s no surprise our pizza scene will echo throughout Europe. Big 7 Travel has ranked 50 pizza places around Europe, and, of course, a restaurant in Naples 10 by Diego Vitagliano Pizzeria came first. Slovenia, Germany and Sweden also did very well on the list, and our very own Paesano Pizza in Glasgow came 34th.
The pizzerias were ranked based on editorial opinions and experiences, reviews, location, online presence, consistency, service and atmosphere, value for money as well as presentation. Paesano Pizza is where Glasgow meets Italy, as all the ingredients are sourced straight from Italy, offering the best produce one can expect.
Big 7 Travel mentioned: “They’re obsessed with sticking to tradition here, which is why everything – from the ingredients to the wood-fired pizza ovens – are sourced in Italy. Then there’s the dough, a unique hybrid of yeast and sourdough, proven for over 48 hours and baked to a thin crisp. It’s the sort of local everyone dreams of having in their neighbourhood.”
A place for traditional Naepolitan pizza, Paesano Pizza uses Artisan built wood fired ovens to achieve the most authentic taste. The pizzeria with two branches in the city, Miller Street and Great Western Road, is also flying the flag for Scotland as the only pizza restaurant in the country making the list. The restaurant has also made number one on our list of best pizzerias in Glasgow.
The menu consists of 10 pizza options, as well as sides and desserts: the quality of the food is Paesano’s highest priority and a smaller menu guarantees it. Next time you visit, indulge in the divine pizza woodfired to magnificence with grilled peppers with spinach, tomato sugo, mozzarella, ricotta and evoo. Now, we know where we’re going for pizza next!
