Prestige Hotel Awards are the like “Oscars” of the industry, bringing the best of the best into one place. And this year, the ceremony took place at the DoubleTree Hilton in Glasgow on Thursday, May 14, crowning all the deserving winners for 2026.
It looks like Glasgow has a lot to brag about, including being home to Scotland’s best hotel bar and restaurant, in two separate spots, as well as the best value hotel and the best hotel renovation. What is more, our city is home to the best four-star hotel in the country!
House of Gods – best hotel bar in Scotland
So, it’s official – the House of Gods bar is the best in Scotland, located on Glassford Street. The House of Gods hotel is home to an Orient Express-inspired lounge bar, Golden Cocktail Lounge, as well as a “one-of-a-kind” colourful rooftop, Sacred Garden. The cocktail menu is inspired by “Rock’n’Roll’s Bohemian past”, with each cocktail coming with a touch of history, such as learning the roots of the first espresso martini, which was linked to Kate Moss.
The rooftop bar is just as charming, with a selection of small plates, desserts and plenty of refreshing cocktails. And the best part, both bars have completely different menus! House of Gods is worthy of the title of having the best hotel bar in Scotland!
Crossbasket Castle – best hotel restaurant in Scotland

When it comes to fine dining, Trocadero’s and Floveran’s restaurants at Crossbasket Castle in Glasgow has got you covered, being named the best hotel restaurant in Scotland for 2026. The spot boasts both indoor and outdoor dining, with the menus overseen by the legendary Michelin-starred Chef Michel Roux.
Prestige Hotel Awards
Other big-name winners around the country include Oban Bay Hotel, Oban, Kingshouse Hotel, Glencoe, Carberry Tower Mansion House & Estate, East Lothian, The Gailes Hotel and Spa, Irvine, The Cairndale Hotel and Spa, Dumfries, Seaton House, St Andrews, Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort, Bishopton, Western House Hotel, Ayr and The Oak Tree Inn, Balmaha.

Awards Director Warren Paul said: “This is one of our real flagship events with a lot of eyes on the results not only in Scotland and the UK, but in Europe and beyond.
“A win or highly recommended outcome at Prestige Hotel Awards has a massive impact for businesses, we see this year after year.
“That’s one of the reasons the awards are essential for our industry – especially in these turbulent times. Everyone who has made it to a finalist spot here is delivering real quality in their field day after day. It’s a seal of approval, so they’re all very, very good. So congrats to the winners and HR – but also to the finalists.”

“Our judges have an incredibly difficult task in selecting winners and highly recommend those finalists, because of the high standards required to get that far. It feels standards have increased even further – the cost of living crisis means people are more careful spending money, so there’s pressure to be even better, more appealing.”
“The hotel and tourism industry in Scotland should be the pride of the nation – I wish there was more support and more shouting about the amazing people, places, businesses and services we have.”
