Glasgow’s Southside community will be buzzing to find out a massive array of free events is coming back to Queen’s Park Arena for 2026: film lovers, music buffs and fitness fanatics will all be united in one green location. From classic films and live music to live sports screenings and family-friendly activities, the iconic amphitheatre will host open-air events, championing the best of our wee Southside. More than 45,000 attendees enjoyed unforgettable performances, screenings and events last year, and this summer is set to be even larger!
The Queen’s Park Arena events are hosted by the local, non-profit organisation Inhouse Event CIC, with the summer programme running from July 2 to August 2 and, no matter the weather, offers locals and visitors alike the opportunity to rejoice in film screenings, creative art workshops, sports screenings, live music and so much more.
The 2026 programme

The outdoor cinema proved to be a true treat every single summer. So, this year, the open-air cinema is showcasing the likes of ‘Cults and Classics’, all projected on a giant 7.5/3m LED HD professional cinema screen. To watch a film, guests will need to book online and pay a 50p booking fee. Plus, Tuesday-Friday evening screenings will feature a total of 10 short films, celebrating rising Scottish directors and filmmakers. Folks, don’t walk – run to the outdoor cinema this year!
Guests can also enjoy performances from local artists and live bands during the Open Stage showcase. To check out the full summer events programme, go to the event’s website.
And, of course, ‘QPA Live’ is making a welcome return with the popular series of professional music and arts co-produced festivals, featuring the 5th annual ‘Sub Club Southside Weekender’, the return of ‘Melting Pot – One Day In The Park’, open-air live comedy events ‘Laugh In The Park’ comedy acts and a series of huge live music acts.

Fitness and wellbeing activities for all abilities abound with the ‘Glasgow Games’ programme of fitness classes, competitive fitness events, and live sports screenings (including the Wimbledon 2026 Men’s & Women’s finals).
Speaking about this year’s dynamic programme, Chet Capkiner, founding Director of Inhouse Event Solutions CIC, said: “We are going to another level this year with some of the live acts coming to the venue in 2026. I’m proud and lucky to have such a capable team supporting me year-round to pull this festival together. As usual, we will be upgrading the site and set-up, as we do each year, to bring the ‘Professional Neighbourhood Productions’ back to the Southside.
We have some other extremely exciting announcements coming up too, which we will be revealing onsite throughout the festival regarding another iconic venue in Queens Park that the Inhouse team will be opening in 2027!”
