While roller rinks are more of a thing of the past, Scotland still has one special venue left – and it’s in Glasgow. Rollerstop is safeguarding that precious piece of retro right here in Scotland’s friendliest city, making it the only roller disco in Scotland.
Located in Kinning Park, Rollerstop boasts a spacious roller rink decked in disco lights and music, with a cafe on-site where visitors can unwind after. The spot has also just celebrated ten years in business, having first opened on April 21, 2015. So, it’s safe to say they are on a roll!
At Rollerstop, guests can attend a number of events, including family sessions and adult-only sessions, as well as book some roller lessons to become a pro. The spot also hosts roller discos throughout the week, perfect for both some after work/school fun and a weekend activity.
The famous Retro Roller Discos for adults are held on Saturdays from 8pm until 10pm, taking skaters waaay back to the 1970s. Expect roller limbo to see how low you can go on skates, sparkling disco lights, and non-stop 70s anthems.
There are also the Late Skate Club Anthems sessions on Friday nights, with old-school bangers from Faithless, Q-tex, Bits + Pieces, T.T.F and more.
And for the whole family, visitors can book a two-hour session on most days, with weekend sessions starting from midday, with the last one starting at 4pm. What is more, the first Sunday of each month is for ASN sessions, offering accessible roller disco for families with additional support needs.
The cafe at Rollerstop in Glasgow offers classic hot drinks options alongside cheesy nachos, pizzas and hot dogs. Simple, but super kid-friendly!
Rollestop is located at 139 Middlesex St, Kinning Park, Glasgow G41 1EE, and you can book a session here.
