They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but at this Glasgow restaurant it seems gold is their top amico instead. The pink and green-fronted, Italian restaurant across from the King’s theatre has recently launched an absolutely golden menu that’s sure to add plenty of bling to your dining experience.
The 24 carat gold menu by Sannio is the first of its kind in Scotland and adds a shiny element of luxury to both their food and drink offerings. Diners can enjoy a selection of drinks from the menu which have experienced the golden treatment such as gold-flecked coffees, gold bottles of bubbly and cocktails ranging from a Pornstar Martini to a Prosecco Lady with Limoncello.
As well as gold drinks on the menu, Sannio serves up deliciously decadent desserts all decorated with 24 carat gold leaf. Choose from the likes of panna cotta, tiramisu, chocolate fudge cake, a trio of ice cream or affogato with mini Baileys and tuck into these sweet dishes that offer a little extra indulgence.
If you can’t get enough of the golden glow up, the restaurant on Elmbank Street will also soon be offering a three-course gold set menu. Launching this spring, the gold set menu will be available for both lunch and dinner service with prices starting from £88.
The gold leaf that decorates these lavish food and drink offerings is sourced from a company used by a number of Britain’s Michelin star restaurants, plus it is suitable for vegans, vegetarians and all religious groups. However, something as beautiful as these golden and glamorous creations must come at a cost, with coffees, cocktails and desserts at Sannio all starting at a price of £24.
Sannio, which opened in October 2021, also offers a five-course tasting menu of Scottish and Italian fusion dishes alongside their classic Italian a la carte which features pasta, pizza and risotto dishes. Book your table at Sannio here.
