As summer is fast approaching and we’re soaking in the long, sun-drenched days, it’s time to start planning vibrant days out. Well, Craigies Farm has got you covered this June and July, as they are hosting massive strawberry, raspberry and cherry picking fields.
Tucked away in South Queensferry, just an hour’s drive from Glasgow, Craigies Farm started from humble beginnings back in 1988 as a single-table shop in a converted barn. A cosy cafe joined the lineup in 2007, and over the decades, the site has blossomed into a massive Pick Your Own destination and the beloved Little Farmers adventure park, securing its spot as one of the UK’s premier farm shops.
To top it all off, they’ve recently introduced fantastic new experiences like Highland cow watching and goat walking!
Pick your own strawberry tickets
The Pick Your Own berries is currently available for Early Access strawberry picking tickets, with raspberries and cherries coming soon after. That said, nature can be unpredictable, so guests are advised to keep a close eye on the calendar since exact dates depend entirely on when the berries ripen.
Festival-goers can look forward to wandering through a vibrant sea of juicy red berries, complete with gorgeous photo backdrops.
Ticket prices vary between £2.50 and £3.50 for entry depending on the day you visit, and you’ll need to reserve a specific arrival slot. Slots can be secured directly on the Craigies Farm website. After you pick your straberries, they will set you back £8.25 per kilo.
You can book your Early Access ticket for June 11, 14 and 15 here. After that, it is expected that more dates will be added depending on the crop.
Things to do at Craigies Farm
Beyond the berry-picking fun, visitors can treat themselves to a seasonal Afternoon Tea at the cafe, stock up on local goodies at the farm shop, or let the kids run wild at the Little Farmers Adventure, which features a giant playground and hands-on animal encounters.
If Afternoon Tea isn’t quite your style, the Craigies Farm Cafe also serves up a top-tier breakfast and lunch menu packed with favourites like Eggs Benedict, a hearty Farmhouse Fry Up, and a great selection of fresh sandwiches.
