The countdown to Christmas never looked so good…
Tennent’s have been gifting Glaswegians with the glorious taste of their beers ever since their 1885 inception – and now, lightening up the impending lockdown, the much-loved brewery has officially dropped the C-bomb… And we couldn’t be more excited.
Announcing the ultimate countdown to Christmas this week, the brewery has created their very own beer advent calendar – packed full of the fan-favourite brew, Tennent’s Lager. It comes at the perfect time, too, since at this point of 2020 – we’re gonna need more than a daily square of cheap chocolate to cheer us up.
Each box will contain 24 cans of Tennent’s Lager so there are 24 entire days for you to sit back, sip on a lager and try to forget the fact that the festive season might be a little different this year. The calendar won’t be cutting us short with sample sizes, either, as the brewery has announced that the calendar will include 440ml cans.
Tennent’s is widely known in Scotland for being one of the oldest breweries, with brewing at Wellpark being traced back as far as 1556, when Mary Queen of Scots was barely out of her infancy and Glasgow was little more than a village. Plus, Tennent’s is believed to be the UK’s first lager, after a young Hugh Tennent discovered pilsner-style beer in 1885 while in Bavaria and returned to Scotland to launch it.
Tennent’s have also launched a new festive Christmas range alongside the beer advent calendar, which is available online from 23 November 2020 and includes Christmas jumpers, hats, socks, vintage posters, personalised pint glasses and Christmas decorations.
The brand new advent calendar costs £25 – working out at just £1.04 per can.
