Am I living in a dream? Each time I blink, the prices go up. Yet, my bank balance seems to shrink more and more. And no one seems to be doing anything about it… That is, until now. One of Birmingham’s more interesting cocktail bars, The Alchemist, is rewinding the clock (and its prices) back to 2010 throughout January.
To celebrate the Manchester-born cocktail bar’s 16th birthday (with locations now in Brindleyplace and Colmore Row), The Alchemist will launch a limited-edition 2010 Revival Menu, bringing back some of its most iconic early cocktails and dishes as well as long-standing fan favourites—all at their original 2010 prices.
For the entire month, guests can enjoy a curated selection of throwback cocktails starting at £6. This includes the return of the fan-favourite White Chocolate Raspberry Martini. This early Alchemist staple features Absolut Raspberry Vodka, Mouse Kingdom Dark Berries Liqueur, Aperol, Raspberry, Cranberry and White Choc Foam.
Other cocktail highlights:

- Colour Changing One (£6): A playful Alchemist classic that transforms before your eyes – Ketel One Vodka, crisp apple and citrus alchemy combine with a touch of “magic,” shifting hue as the drink comes to life. A nostalgic crowd-pleaser that still sparks wonder
- Smokey Old Fashioned (£8): The Alchemist’s original Old Fashioned returns – Buffalo Trace Bourbon stirred with maple syrup and Jerry Thomas bitters, finished with aromatic smoke
- Virgin Pornstar (£6): A non-alcoholic cocktail that delivers all the indulgence of its alcoholic version, featuring pineapple, lemon, vanilla and passionfruit caviar paired with REAL Alc Free Royal Flush sparkling white. A refined, low-ABV option (1.55%) is also available
- Dead Red Zombie (£8): A year-round tropical favourite. Bacardi Carta Blanca, Wray & Nephew, Grand Marnier and citrus collide with pineapple, cranberry and the signature Zombie mix to create a punchy, charged-up cocktail designed for the bold
What about the food menu?
Diners are also in for a money-saving treat this January. Tuck into a classic cheeseburger for just £8 (with a plant-based version available for the same price), The Alchemist’s signature ‘Chicken in a Basket’ for also £8, or a modern take on the staple fish & chips for £10. A selection of salads is also available from £6 in January.
