I believe in miracles! The Full Monty play, based on the 1997 smash hit British comedy film, is heading to Theatre Royal in Glasgow in February 2024. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the film on a major national tour. Now baring everything, the full cast list of this scintillating play has just been announced, too. You sexy thing!
This brand-new production follows down-on-his-luck Gaz and five other unemployed men that decide to form a male striptease act to make some money. And yes, we fully expect them to go “the full monty”. Expect a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs, laughs and heartbreak, and plenty of men in the buff.
Gaz (played by Robert Carlyle in the movie) will be brought to life by Danny Hatchard, best known for his role as Lee Carter in BBC One’s EastEnders, and Gary in BBC One’s Not Going Out. While best mate Dave will be played by All Creatures Great and Small and Coronation Street actor, Neil Hurst.
The rest of the cast will be filled in by former X Factor contestant Jake Quickenden as Guy, Bill Ward (best known as Charlie Stubbs in Coronation Street) as Gerald, Ben Onwukwe as Horse and Nicholas Prasad as Lomper. Other cast members include Oliver Joseph Brooke, Katy Dean, Laura Matthews, Danny Mellor, Adam Porter Smith, Suzanne Procter, Alice Schofield, and Leyon Stolz-Hunter. The young actors playing the role of Gaz’s son Nathan will be Cass Dempsey, Theo Hills, Rowan Poulton and Jack Wisniewski.
The Full Monty UK tour will kick off at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham on September 14. But the cast won’t strip off at Theatre Royal in Glasgow until February 20 – 24, 2024.
