It’s official – one of Scotland’s most anticipated festive traditions is making a huge comeback in Glasgow. The beloved Irn-Bru Carnival returns to the SEC Centre from December 18 to January 10, packed with enough attractions to entertain the whole family for hours.
Last year, the funfair was packed with thrill rides like the 40m high Starflyer and Midnight Express Matterhorn, plus family rides, children’s rides, games, stalls and an inflatable play area for children, it was no doubt an unmissable event in the festive calendar for both locals and Scots as the programme has been running for over a century. Visitors to the Irn Bru Carnival could also enjoy trampolines, a climbing wall, a 15m-high Ferris Wheel, dodgems, a ghost train, a crazy circus fun house and an inflatable play area for little ones.
This year, thrill-seekers are in for a treat as the Carnival unveils its biggest coaster yet for 2026. Making its debut as the largest indoor attraction in Carnival history, the showstopping Magic Mouse, the UK’s largest travelling rollercoaster, stands 13 metres tall and hits speeds of 29 mph, making it a must-ride for the family daredevils.
In true carnival form, there will be various food outlets within the hall selling everything from candy floss, hot dogs and chicken, to burger and chips. Tickets start from £14, and £21.50 for standard admission plus ten vouchers, with discounts available for groups, with Young Scot / Kidz Card holders paying a reduced rate, and kids 3 or under going for free.
