The Loveable Rogue, one of the hippest gastropubs in Glasgow, opened a second restaurant location in the city’s East End this weekend. From Sunday, December 4, diners are able to enjoy a wide variety of homemade comfort foods, locally brewed beers and wine at the newly opened branch.
The Loveable Rogue is a local business owned by Joe Lazzerini and Amalia Colaluca, whose philosophy is based on food, friends and family. The community and food-centred restaurateurs have combined their passions to create a homely atmosphere with a seasonal menu.
Like all good neighbourhood hangouts, the décor at The Loveable Rogue East End boasts homely and earthy tones, with a tasteful mix of exposed brick and beams and the welcome sight of an open kitchen for all to view. Repurposed Scottish oak whisky barrels also enclose the outdoor seating area and add a delightful rustic touch to the exteriors.
While the West End branch menu is designed for all hours of the day, the new East End location will focus on breakfast and brunch, as well as their famous Rogue’s Roast Sundays. You can expect seasonal winter warmers such as the Loaded Potato Rosti with Sausage, egg and black pudding, the tangy Rogue Muffins with sausage, bacon, egg and sriracha, or the Piece’N’Fish – a Breaded haddock with Chipotle tartar sauce. And our favourite addition is easily the Roast Wrap: a Yorkshire pudding wrap with sticky brisket, garlic potatoes, crushed veggies and Mac’n’Cheese, topped with reduced gravy. Drooling yet?
The Sunday menu is also worth drooling over, with a choice of two or three courses, which serves everything from classic Roast Beef and Yorkshire Puddings to Sunday roast dinners with a twist. Their Sunday feast will follow in the footsteps of its West End location, surely set to be the highlight of its weekend menu.
Head chef and co-owner Joe Lazzerini said:
“We offer hearty, unfussy and delicious food that everyone can tuck into. New to our East End location is a varied daily menu of classic breakfast and brunch dishes alongside Rogue’s heartier fare as well as introducing our signature Sunday roast to the neighbourhood – served all day every Sunday.”
