A little bit of history on the Trades Hall
This is the only remaining building in Glasgow still used in an official role — hosting the city’s 14 historic trades. However, when it was first built, it served as the center for decision-making, apprenticeships, and charitable work, shaping the city’s economic and social development for over two centuries. The Hall remains fantastically intact with its original furnishings, full of ceremonial chairs, banners and artefacts from each of the Incorporated Trades some dating back to the 1500s.
