As quiet chatter fills the room with the comforting melodies of jazz, soft vocals and skilled musicians set the scene from the moment you walk into Browns Brasserie & Bar. Dimmed lights and floral arrangements aid the romantic glow of the restaurant even further, preparing each visitor for a cosy and intimate evening.
Browns Brasserie & Bar is located at number one George Square, making it as prime of a spot as any in Glasgow. Guests can expect a selection of British Brasserie favourites, as well as a range of innovative dishes and cocktails. The restaurant sources its produce from local suppliers, independent farmers and fishermen, as well as trying to limit food miles as much as possible to help the environment.
The food at Browns Brasserie & Bar

Secret Glasgow got the chance to try out Browns Brasserie & Bar for ourselves, enjoying a three-course dinner accompanied by live jazz music. To start, the Beetroot and Apple Tartare tasted just like my grandma’s beetroot salad (seriously, can there be a bigger compliment than this?). The main event was even more exciting – the Fillet Steak with Garlic Butter Scallops with chips and pea shoots proved to provide a sizeable portion, perfectly complemented by Creamed Spinach.
What is more, the Gluten-Free Rich Chocolate Fondant proved to be just as marvellous as a regular one, boasting Amarena Wild Cherries.
The drinks
Visitors have an abundance of choice when it comes to champagne and wine at Browns Brasserie & Bar, ranging from La Sauterelle Picpoul De Pinet with hints of melon and citrus for a lighter taste, or Browns very own champagne.
