While Glasgow isn’t short of decent steakhouses, one particular West End restaurant was officially recognised as one of the best steakhouses in the world. The World’s Best Steak Restaurants released a shortlist of 101 Best Steakhouses around the globe, and our very own Porter & Rye made the cut. The restaurant took the not-so-shabby 55th place on the list, leaving the team ecstatic.
In an Instagram post, Porter & Rye shared: “This is the only one of these signs you will see in Scotland this year! We’re over the moon the be listed again, thank you so much, World’s Best Steak Restaurants.”
Overall, Porter & Rye was the only Scottish establishment on the shortlist and one of the only UK entries. The best steak restaurant in Europe is officially Hawksmoor in London, and Don Julio in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was crowned the best steak restaurant in the world.
Located on Argyle Street, Porter & Rye offers a truly meat-filled experience with their famous dry-aged large cuts. What is more, the restaurant ages and infuses its cuts in an inspired way, where visitors can indulge in something new every time they visit. The interior boasts a balance of modern splendour with a touch of rustic elements and woody tones, as well as a welcoming, intimate atmosphere: it even made it onto our most romantic restaurants list.
Recently, Porter & Rye has also introduced their Spring-inspired lunch menu with a small plates concept. Everything is under £10 and the menu is on Mondays to Fridays between 12pm and 5pm, with the small plates menu available all days except Sundays between 12pm and 4pm. Those who opt for lunch can expect delights such as the Bourbon Beef sandwich or the Confit Wild Rabbit Shoulder. Moreover, guests can still try the carefully crafted small plates at different prices during the dinner.
So, we’re chuffed our very own Porter & Rye made the cut, and sounds like it’s time for dinner.
