Sally’s Cottages have analysed TikTok view count data to uncover the UK’s 10 most popular wild swimming spots. The hashtag #wildswimming has received over 6 million views, with hundreds of videos of swimmers in picturesque open waters that have inspired people across the UK to swap the gym for the lake.
Windemere in Lake District was the leader on the list with 39 million views, making it the number one wild swimming place in the UK. Falls of Falloch fell significantly behind with 11 million views, however, it still took second place, proving to be the most popular wild swimming spot in Scotland.
Pedn Vounder, Cornwall came third with 4 million views on TikTok, while Buttermere, Lake District raked in 3 million views and came fourth as well as Wastwater, Lake District with 3 million views. Another Scottish place was sixth on the list too with 2 million views, and it was Loch Morlich located in the Scottish Highlands.
