One big counter but a small and mighty menu.
When it comes to burgers, Glasgow is spoiled for choice – with stacked and experimental creations ranging every cuisine you could possibly think of. But sometimes you just want a good old classic burger bursting with flavour.
Glasgow’s southside has recently been blessed with new restaurant, Big Counter, serving solely burgers and fries. Launched by the same team behind neighbourhood favourite Errol’s Hot Pizza, Big Counter, quietly opened on Victoria Road at the tail-end of last month.
However, the arrival of Big Counter means the city’s food and drink scene is beefing up with a simple, no-nonsense offering of good old-fashioned cheeseburgers. The Glasgow burger bar is serving two basic but brilliant burgers. Take your pick from a Classic Cheeseburger with cheese, onions, gherkins and burger sauce or the LT Cheeseburger with cheese, onions, lettuce, gherkins, mayo, ketchup and mustard… And yes, you can have fries with that.
Some may say its simple, others say “if ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. In this case, it seems Big Counter has got quite the drool-worthy burger recipe. The only thing breaking is our hearts wishing that this burger joint had arrived sooner.
Big Counter doesn’t have a sign above the door, so keep your eyes peeled and come with an appetite. Big Counter will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 6pm and 9pm.
