Calling all biscuit lovers!
Let’s be honest, working from home or at the office calls for biscuits. You’ve got to fuel all that hard work somehow. According to a survey, alongside books and tea, biscuits were one of the items that Brits were spending more of their money on during lockdown. Kantar reported that a whopping £19 million more was spent on biscuits than usual between April and June 2020!
So, with such a demand for biscuits across the UK and afar, Border Biscuits are now hiring a ‘master biscuiteer’ to help create and taste test their baked goods. From light and buttery Viennese Whirls to Sweet Memories Butterscotch Crunch, this new role will be able to feast their eyes on, and feast on, these classic biscuits every day.

The lucky foodie will also receive an impressive £40,000 salary, which also equates to over 26,600 packs of chocolate ginger biscuits, in case you were interested. However, the job requirements to work in the Lanark-based factory include a qualification in either Food Science, Nutrition or food related studies, as well scientific and practical experience with bakery products and processes.
Border Biscuits job specification says it is looking for a creative foodie with finely-tuned taste buds and a talent for the technical side of baking. Plus, the successful candidate will be “forward thinking, keeping abreast of advances within technology, ingredients and packaging.”
Responsibilities include taste-testing Border Biscuits’ range and helping decide which new flavours deserve a place in biscuit tins across the nation. The ‘master biscuiteer’ will spend their days launching products from the kitchen table to production.
