It wouldn’t be Christmas without a day out to see the year pantomime show in your city. However, what if we told you there is so much more to uncover when it comes to Christmas theatre and panto for the drama lovers out there? So, we have put together all of the most noteworthy shows into one place every Glaswegian should check out this year.
1. ‘Beauty and the Beastie’ – Glasgow Pavillion
It seriously wouldn’t be Christmas without the Glasgow Pavillion Panto show, and this year, the crew is taking the iconic tale of ‘Beauty and the Beastie‘ to newer heights. Imagine Theatre is bringing another spectacular performance, starring Liam Dolan, Grado, Stephen Purdon, Scott Fletcher, Valissa Scott, Craig Glover, Jennifer Neil, Jack Jester and Nikki Auld. What is more, those wanting to have a proper day trip can head to Kilmarnock’s The Big Top at Ayrshire Athletics Arena to see ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ panto between November 19 and December 29. You can book your tickets here.

2. ‘Peter Pan’ – The King’s Theatre Glasgow
This year, Crossroads Pantomimes, the world’s biggest pantomime producer, is bringing their production of ‘Peter Pan’ to The King’s Theatre Glasgow, celebrating its diamond anniversary. The show features icons Elaine C Smith and Johnny Maca and runs between Saturday, November 23 2024 adn Sunday, January 5, 2025. You can book your tickets here.
3. ‘The Wizard of Oz- A Wicked Glesga Panto!’ – Maryhill Community Central Halls
‘The Wizard of Oz- A Wicked Glesga Panto!’ is coming to the Maryhill Community Central Halls, brought by Halo Arts. The Christmas theatre panto show runs between Friday, December 20, and Sunday, December 22 and you can book your tickets here.
4. ‘Peter Panto and the Incredible Stinkerbell’ – The Tron Theatre
Winner of the UK Pantomime Award 2024 for “Best Pantomime (Under 500 Seats)” for Agenza Scrooge, ‘Peter Panto and the Incredible Stinkerbell’ is playing at The Tron Theatre this year. 5. Scottish Ballet – ‘The Nutcracker’ – Theatre Royal Glasgow
A night at the ballet is a night to remember: the sparkling lights, the magical costumes and the sheer skill of the performers captivates you, leaving one wanting more.
