The Coca-Cola Christmas truck that has graced our screens since 1995 is back and it’s embarking on its 2022 tour around the UK. To perk us up for the festive season, Coca-Cola has announced that it will return and will be handing out cans of free Coca-Cola from its festive truck.
The truck – that I used to believe was Father Christmas’ new and improved sleigh – is planning to make stops at supermarket branches across the country, as well as some shopping centres too, however, these dates and destinations will gradually be announced. To continue with the 2023 tour, the Coca-Cola Christmas truck will be making its way back to Scotland and stop at Glasgow’s Silverburn Shopping Centre on November 24 from 11:30am, to bring plenty of festive freebies and joy.
Visitors will be able to get their festive fill of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar and Coca-Cola Original, as well as the opportunity for some seasonal selfies in front of the iconic red truck in a “magical winter wonderland setting”. The Snowglobe and Ho-Ho-Hoop Game Hut will also be available for guests to enjoy throughout the tour, as well as the Coca-Cola Christmas choir, as they perform a set of carols, filling the air with holiday magic.
This year, the brand has also teamed up with Neighbourly, a charity that supports local communities and inspires acts of kindness to those most in need. Visitors can donate both online and through a QR code on the spot.
Florence Wheatley, Brand Manager at Coca-Cola Company, Great Britain, said: “Coca-Cola has been spreading Christmas cheer for decades and, this year, we’ve added even more exciting elements to make it as magical and merry as possible. Alongside the beloved return of the Truck Tour nationwide and the much loved ‘Holidays Are Coming’ advert, we have introduced new elements like the ‘World Needs More Santas’ TVC and an interactive Santa Quiz.
We’re also thrilled to extend our partnership with Neighbourly, emphasising spreading kindness and making a positive impact across the UK. Together, we want to inspire year-round acts of goodwill and truly make a difference in all local communities.”
