‘Outlander’ filming locations in Culross
Culross is one of the many ‘Outlander’ filming locations in Seasons 1, 2 and 4 and appeared as Cranesmuir, a Jacobite rebellion encampment, as well as the residence of Laoghaire in Season 4. It is recommended to start at the Mercat Cross, then head to Tanhouse Brae, which was the walkway with colourful houses down to Cranesmuir in Season 1.

The Wee Causeway in Culross was The path to Mrs Baxter’s house in Season 1, as well as Laoghaire’s House in Season 4. Visitors should also check out Culross Palace, which was featured in Seasons 1, 2 and 4 throughout. The palace is yellow in colour and is worth a wee visit even without the film and TV connection.
Lastly, head to The West Kirk, which was called the The Black Kirk and Saint Nicholas’ Kirkyard in ‘Outlander’.
