Wee, sleekit, cowrin, tim’rous burger… The award winning burger supremoes, El Perro Negro, are back with the release of another limited edition seasonal special to celebrate Burns Night.
After the success of its festive special drenched in mouthwatering chicken gravy, the winners of the National Burger Awards 2019 and 2021 has quite the burger to honour Scotland’s renowned bard, Robert Burns. El Perro Negro is officially home to the best burger in the UK – the infamous Top Dog, but now for a limited time the Glasgow restaurant is launching the Ode to a Haggis Burger.
Available from tomorrow (January 21) until Burn’s Night on January 25 at both their Glasgow and Edinburgh branches, burger fans will be treated to a formidable burger that may just deserve a poem dedicated to it. The haggis burger at El Perro Negro consists of juicy double smash patties with the infamous Ramsay of Carluke haggis, burger cheese, Arran smoked cheddar, house pickles and burger sauce.
El Perro Negro Founder, Nick Watkins spoke of his excitement about the launch, saying: “To quote the big bard himself – ‘Some hae meat and canna eat, And some wad eat that want it, But we hae meat and we can eat, And sae the Lord be thankit.'”
The new Ode to a Haggis Burger will be available at their Glasgow branch on Woodlands Road for both sit-in and collection orders for just five days so be sure snap one of these “beastie” burgers up before it’s too late. El Perro Negro launched as a pop-up in 2014 with its first restaurant opening on Glasgow’s Woodlands Road back in 2019 and recently opened an Edinburgh branch in December 2021.
