As Storm Éowyn has arrived in Scotland today (January 24), The Met Office has issued a Red Weather Warning with a warning to not travel as there is a possible danger to life. As a result, First Bus has released a second statement ahead of Friday, urging Glaswegians not to travel.
All First Bus services are set to be suspended across Glasgow for the rest of the night on January 24.
First Bus announced: “Buses will remain suspended for the remainder of today (24th January)
Following on from today’s red weather warning and after continual monitoring of storm damage and debris on and around roads across Greater Glasgow, we have taken the decision not to resume services for the remainder of today (24th January).
This decision has not been taken lightly, but the safety of our people and passengers remains our utmost priority.
Our activity is now focused on resuming services tomorrow morning in line with our scheduled timetables, but we may experience some residual disruption as a result of the prevailing weather conditions.
Our passengers will be able to stay up to date on the status of our services through our website and Twitter/X feed. We thank everyone for their continued patience and understanding during these challenging circumstances.”

Stay safe out there, folks!
