When one thinks of Halloween and spooky stuff, witches, magic, ghosts and all things occult usually come to mind. However, this year, GlasGLOW is bringing The Land That Time Forgot questioning the true meaning of existence and survival. Between October 26 and November 13, Glasgow Botanic Gardens will be transformed into the prehistoric tundra where dinosaurs and active volcanoes will prove that time does not have amnesia.
The adventure trail will take up to 70 minutes, bringing chills and thrills to guests of all ages as well as some feel-good interactive light installations. The dopamine-inducing art installations will bring some anticipation and excitement to Glasgow as the days are turning darker into October and the clocks go backwards on October 30.
GlasGLOW will be celebrating the event’s fifth successful year in 2022, it has become a sold-out show every year, loved by locals and visitors alike. Each year the theme changes, bringing a new aspect of escapism to life: and this year, we are travelling 170 million years back in time.
On top of enjoying the long-extinct creatures, visitors will have the chance to visit the famous Marshmallowland where they can toast smores by the campfire with marshmallow skewers. Guests will also find the West End’s most-loved dessert shop’s Loop & Scoop stand, as well as Nomad Pizza, Fries Guys and Brigston & Co Artisan Hotdogs.
Creator of GlasGLOW and Itison CEO, Oli Norman, said: “It takes a team of 150 to bring GlasGLOW to life and create a world-class show that we’re really proud to put on in our home city. This year’s route is jam-packed with adventure that everyone can enjoy, with plenty of photo opportunities, as well as some of the city’s best food and drink vendors keeping everyone energised enough to take on the various creatures dotted around the Gardens.”
“This year is probably our most exciting yet, all stemming from my own family adventure in Skye – we can’t wait for October to roll round to lighten up the dark skies and make them GLOW once again.”
Moreover, The itison Pumpkin Fund will also return having raised £30,000 for local charities in 2021, spreading pumpkin joy around the city and donating over 2,000 tickets to local community organisations, hospitals and charities. It looks like it’s going to be a unique Halloween season this year, and you can book your tickets here.
