Nothing is permanent, especially the weather in Scotland. After a period of rainy weather, there is another mini heatwave in the cards for Glasgow starting this weekend, with temperatures reaching up to 24 degrees. What is more, the first half of July is looking drier and warmer “than normal”, meaning we could possibly put this gloomy weather behind and start the actual summer.
What is more, it looks like festival goers are in for a treat from Saturday while attending the TRNSMT festival, which runs between June 19 and 21.
Highs of 24 degrees in Glasgow next week
As for this weekend in Glasgow, Friday, June 19 is still looking rainy with 18 degrees, while things will brighten up starting Saturday afternoon on June 20, with highs of 19 degrees and sunny intervals. Sunday, June 21, is meant to be even lovelier, with sunny intervals and 22 degrees, with lows of 13.
Monday, June 22 and Tuesday, June 23 are meant to be the warmest days of the week, with highs of 24 degrees on both days and sun. Wednesday, June 24 is meant to reach 23 degrees, but cloudy.
In their outlook between Saturday and Monday, the Met Office said: “Rain clears north Saturday morning to leave the afternoon and Sunday dry and bright. A band of cloud and outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, pass east Monday morning.”
July is looking bright so far
June 22 to July 1 forecast stated: “Probably a north-south split at the start of this period. In the north, changeable and often rather cloudy with showers or some longer spells of rain, perhaps heavy at times, and temperatures near normal. In the south, mainly fine and dry with temperatures well above normal, albeit with a small risk of a few showers or thunderstorms at times. Into late June, high pressure may begin to build with conditions becoming more widely dry and settled. Temperatures are likely to be above normal for many areas.”
What is more, things are looking bright up until mid-July, as the Met Office forecast for July 2 – 16 said: “High pressure patterns are slightly more likely than low pressure patterns during this period, meaning settled and drier than average conditions are most probable. However, there is still a chance of some changeable, more unsettled conditions could develop at times, and a risk of some heavy and thundery showers. Temperatures are likely to be above normal, with a greater than normal chance of hot conditions developing.”
