Scotland is officially leading the UK when it comes to coffee
That’s right, the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops list has been unveiled, firmly putting our wee Glasgow on the global map. Ranking at 38th place, Ottoman Coffee House in Glasgow made it onto the top 40! What is more, Scotland did not stop there, as Birch Coffee in Portree also came 50th on the list. No English spots made it this year, so Scotland is holding the global coffee scene for the UK on this one, folks!
The best coffee shop in the world is officially Onyx Coffee LAB in Rogers, Arkansas, USA, followed by Tim Wendelboe in Oslo, Norway, in second place.
Ottoman Coffee House in Glasgow
Guests can indulge in a proper quality brew at Ottoman Coffee House, inviting everyone to come and “taste the past”. According to its owners, “history isn’t just in books, it’s in your cup”.
Ottoman Coffee House aims to encourage locals and visitors to slow down, and enjoy coffee the proper way, made with “the ancient art of brewing”, just as it was intended when coffee houses first emerged in Istanbul in 1554.

What is more, the spot serves food, such as large and small plates, shawarmas and kebabs. Moreover, those who don’t feel like coffee can opt for a selection of Silk Road teas!
