Finally, the festive truck we’ve all been waiting for. Irn-Bru is joining the likes of Coca-Cola and Lidl this season, launching its official Christmas truck. Embarking on a UK-wide tour and handing out Scotland’s unofficial national drink to those who need it the most.
The orange and blue lorry is on a mission to help people get over their work parties, providing us with a hangover cure to soothe our regrets from the night before. Plus, according to a survey by Irn-Bru, a third of Scots have “the fear” the day after their Christmas parties—almost a third (30%) admitted to worrying about doing something foolish or having “awkwardness with colleagues” (33%).
What is more, 26% of respondents were guilty of “questionable dancing“, while 20% were flirting with someone they shouldn’t. 14% said they fell asleep in a random spot, and 12% of people were hogging the karaoke. Falling over on the dancefloor was also a regrettable memory (10%) and 6% told their boss they didn’t like them – however, 7% confessed to loving their bosses. As a result, 23% of people call in sick the next day not wanting to go back to the office.
The Irn-Bru Christmas truck is heading to Glasgow on Friday, December 13 at surprise locations around the city, handing out ice-cold cans, “helping people to see the funny side of things”. Coming to Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Manchester, a special hotline has been set up on 07598 402867. Just call in and share your funny Christmas party stories, or nominate someone to receive a drop from IRN-BRU.
Plus, the Irn-Bru Christmas truck will be giving away product drops, including the limited-edition jumpers that read “Merry Xmas, ya fanny“.
Kenny Nicholson, Head of Brand at IRN-BRU said: “We all know that dreaded post-Christmas party feeling and IRN-BRU is here to help. It’s one of the biggest nights of the year for the office, but no one wants to feel like an idiot – or as we would say, fanny – the morning after.
So this Christmas, we’re creating a festive truck dropping off the ultimate pick-me-up when they need it most.”
