Netflix’s Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness (JVN) is a person of many talents. On top of being an expert hair stylist, famous for his role in the hit TV show, Jonathan also owns a haircare brand JVN, is a four-time NY Times Best Seller, a podcast host and a comedian. As a result, he embarked on the ‘Hot & Healed’ Tour across the US and the UK, stopping in Glasgow along the way.
Secret Glasgow got the chance to go see the Jonathan Van Ness sold-out ‘Hot & Healed’ show for ourselves at the St. Luke’s & The Winged Ox in the East End on Friday, May 22. The evening proved to be a blast, filled with witty humour, plenty of sparkles and a delighted crowd.
Born in Quincy, Illinois, Jonathan Van Ness is consistently reimagining his role as a public figure, championing transparency, authenticity, empathy and courage (and, of course, let’s not forget those banging hair styles), inspiring others to be themselves. The show reflects just that, with fans travelling to Glasgow to experience a fun evening.
Before the show, we got to briefly meet Jonathan, who revealed their favourite place in Glasgow. As the star absolutely loves them a bit of Glasgow – Kimpton Blythswood Square hotel is the place, boasting its adorable Georgian square, where Jonathan loves taking walks.
As a landmark hotel in Glasgow, Kimpton Blythswood Square boasts five stars, famous for being pet-friendly (ready to host Jonathan’s pets) and, of course, its thermal spa with their famous snow shower.
While the Hot & Healed tour has now concluded in the UK, Jonathan is still touring the US for those who may be travelling there, and you can book your tickets here.
