Global Scottish superstar Lewis Capaldi has become Glasgow’s pride and joy over the years selling out arenas all over the world. However, the star also suffers from ticks caused by Tourette’s Syndrome, which has gotten in the way of performing in the past. That is what happened at Glastonbury this summer, after which Capaldi decided to take a well-deserved break for his mental health. And now after six months, Lewis Capaldi has been seen performing in a bar in Glasgow this week, delighting local fans with an intimate gig.
The singer-songwriter was filmed performing in a heaving Broadcast bar on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow city centre, which then got even more packed once the word got out.
Fans then commented under the video, saying: ““I’m crying. I missed him so bad and am so proud of him for taking care of himself.”
Another person said: “Lewis you’re an inspiration.”
While Lewis hasn’t yet confirmed when he’ll be returning to the stage, it is expected he is going to return sometime next year. Posting back in June, he explained: “I used to be able to enjoy every second of shows like this and I’d hoped three weeks away would sort me out.
“But the truth is I’m still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette’s and on Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come.
“I know I’m incredibly fortunate to be able to take some time out when others can’t and I’d like to thank my amazing family, friends, team, medical professionals all of you who’ve been so supportive every step of the way through the good times and even more so during this past year when I’ve needed it more than ever.”
